Since 1814
Our tradition
We are a family-run winery with a more than 200-year tradition in winemaking: our history began in 1814 with the purchase of the Solenga vineyard, one of the many crus of the estate. Since then, eight generations of the Fiamberti family have carried on this tradition.
The winery is located in the southern part of Lombardy, in Oltrepò Pavese, one of the largest and historical Italian wine regions. The estate vineyards, grown with sustainable methods, lie on the sunny steep slopes of the hills of Canneto Pavese, a small town in the Versa Valley, where vine-growing has always been the major activity (461 hectares of vineyards on a total area of 581 hectares).
We produce mainly red wines from indigenous grapes (Croatina, Barbera, Uva Rara and Ughetta di Canneto) on one side, and white and rosé sparkling wines from Pinot Noir on the other.
In addition to Bonarda, a very food friendly frizzante red wine which is the most popular of the region, our catalogue offers two unique wines, whose DOC is limited to a few towns of the eastern part of Oltrepò Pavese: Sangue di Giuda, a low-alcohol, sweet and fruity frizzante red, and Buttafuoco, a full-bodied red with a great aging potential. We are member of the Buttafuoco Storico Club, an association of 15 winegrowers whose mission is to promote the appreciation of this traditional wine.
Finally, the current focus of our winery is the crafting of top quality Metodo Charmat and Metodo Classico sparkling wines, following the tradition of the Versa Valley, where sparkling wines production started as far back as 1930.
